The best advice here is to start with the end in mind. Get engagement and alignment from all parts of the business, especially those that will be impacted by the output, early in the process.

Identify their objectives and get clarity on what the DS need to show to help them. This will also help you understand the frameworks that are already in use and how you need to build on them, it will also flag frameworks that didn’t land and the reasons why.

For example, if buying media is going to be important, making demographic differences easily visible in the framework might be important.

If the DS are being created to show where to focus in innovation, dividing each Demand Spaces up into two to three growth platforms might help them unpick and better activate the opportunity.

Finally, taking your users on the journey by creating the framework with them and using it on a live project will mean they have a much greater understanding of how the solution has been developed and how it should be used.
